Solana Mobile Names Ledger First Hardware Partner for $849 Ledger Atom

Ledger's Atom, an Android-based device built around a secure chip, will ship with Solana Mobile's Seeker app preinstalled, the companies say. Reservations take a $100 deposit, and Ledger estimates delivery in 2027.

Solana Mobile has named Ledger as its first hardware expansion partner, and Ledger's new device, Ledger Atom, will ship with Solana Mobile's Seeker app preinstalled, according to a Solana Mobile release issued Thursday (source 1). The announcement was made on stage at Ledger Op3n 2026 in Paris, where Ledger introduced the device (sources 1, 2).

Ledger is taking reservations now. Its Founders Edition requires a fully refundable $100 deposit and carries what Ledger calls a "special reserve price of $849," Ledger CEO and Chairman Pascal Gauthier wrote in the company's launch post (source 2). Ledger says the device "ships in 2027" and gives an estimated delivery date of the second quarter of 2027, which it calls "an estimate, not a commitment" (source 2).

What Ledger Atom is

Solana Mobile describes Ledger Atom as "a new security and privacy device" that uses the Android Open Source Project (AOSP), the open-source base of Android, alongside a Secure Element rated EAL6+ that runs Ledger OS (source 1). The display and touch control are "physically isolated from the Android operating system," the release says (source 1).

Ledger frames the design as two layers in one device. "Put simply: Ledger Atom is a Ledger signer that runs your everyday apps," Gauthier wrote (source 2). He described the Android side as "the window" for everyday life and Ledger OS as "the gate" that guards "your money, your messages, your identity, your agents" (source 2).

Ledger's post lists other features. A hardware switch cuts off the camera and microphone. Passkeys are kept in the secure chip, and logins are approved on a screen that only Ledger OS controls. Ledger says the device is "post-quantum ready" (source 2). Solana Mobile's release says the device will carry anti-tampering and tamper-evident measures "from packaging to the device itself," including ways to help detect if the enclosure has been opened (source 1).

The device will be sold only one way. "Ledger Atom will only be sold directly on Ledger's official site," Solana Mobile's release says (source 1).

What the Seeker app brings

The partnership merges the Solana dApp Store and Solana Mobile's wallet into one Seeker app, which will be preloaded and featured on Ledger Atom's home screen (source 1). Seeker is Solana Mobile's own phone, which the company says it shipped in 2025 (source 1).

Signing and approvals inside the Seeker app will take place in what Solana Mobile calls Ledger Atom's Secure Mode, "backed by the Secure Element and Ledger OS, so the transaction users confirm is the one they sign" (source 1). Neither source describes Secure Mode in more technical detail.

Both companies say the Solana dApp Store will be built in. Solana Mobile says "1500+ dApps available today on Seeker" are coming to Ledger Atom, spanning trading, payments, gaming and AI (source 1). Ledger's post puts it at "the 1,500+ apps on the Solana dApp Store" (source 2).

Solana Mobile says the deal builds on the hardware expansion it began in March 2026, when it opened its Solana Mobile Stack to Android manufacturers at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona (source 1). It says Seeker owners will see no change and that the phone "will stay fully supported" (source 1). It also says a developer's single dApp Store submission will now reach users across several devices (source 1).

Solana Mobile cites figures for its existing business. It says Seeker has seen "over $13B in transaction volume" and "154 million transactions," and its boilerplate cites "over 200,000 devices sold and $13B+ in transaction volume" (source 1). Those are the company's own figures, which Le Coin has not checked.

Ledger's post also names other partners for the device. They are Payward, the parent of Kraken, which Ledger says it is exploring integrations with; Cyber50, which Ledger says secures business and government communications in the UAE, named as a launch partner; and Persona, named as Ledger's first identity partner (source 2). Ledger says it will announce more partners, "with real benefits for early reservations," starting at Solana Breakpoint next month (source 2).

What they said

"Having the Seeker app on Ledger Atom from day one just makes sense, so Ledger users get access to the Solana ecosystem without giving up any of the security," said Ian Rogers, Ledger's chief human agency officer, in Solana Mobile's release (source 1).

"Now we're thrilled to take the Solana Mobile ecosystem further with Ledger, and I'm excited for Ledger Atom users to experience the magic that Seeker users have been experiencing for over a year," said Anatoly Yakovenko, co-founder and CEO of Solana Labs (source 1).

The fine print

Ledger stresses that the device is not finished. "Ledger Atom™ is still in development: you are placing a reservation, not buying a finished product," its post says, adding that "specifications, features, design, appearance and price may change before launch" (source 2). Ledger also says app availability "depends on certifications and licences and will be confirmed before your device ships" (source 2).

Neither source states a price other than $849, and neither gives a full retail price after the Founders Edition.

What it means

In Le Coin's view, the direct-only sales line matters as much as the hardware. A device built to guard keys is only as trustworthy as the route it takes to the buyer, and selling solely through Ledger's own site, with tamper-evident packaging, narrows that route.

In Le Coin's view, the deal also shows Solana Mobile moving from selling its own phones to placing its app store on other companies' hardware. The next things to watch are the further partners Ledger says it will name at Solana Breakpoint and whether the second-quarter 2027 delivery estimate holds.
