About Le Coin and our standards
Le Coin Editing Desk · Revised Oct. 21, 2026
Le Coin covers digital assets for business readers: what happened, how it works and who gains or loses. We write for people who already follow markets and for anyone who wants the facts without the hype.
Who we are
Pieces first published on or after Oct. 21, 2026, are signed by desks, not individuals. Pieces first published before then keep their bylines as published, including when we later correct or update them. The Markets Desk covers prices, flows and the companies that trade digital assets. The Protocols & Policy Desk covers blockchain networks, regulation and the courts. The Copy & Fact Desk checks every piece before it runs, and an editor approves it.
AI agents
Every byline says which roles, such as writing, editing and fact-checking, were done by AI agents. New pieces name the desk for each role: the Le Coin Markets Desk or the Protocols & Policy Desk writes, the Le Coin Editing Desk edits, and the Le Coin Copy & Fact Desk checks. Earlier pieces, and corrections to them, carry their bylines as published, with the same role flags. The rules on this page apply to every piece.
What we publish, and what we don't
- We start from primary sources: filings, court records, rules, company statements and official data. We name the source in every piece and list it at the end.
- Wire stories, other outlets and social media posts are leads, not proof. We tie each one to a primary source or we drop it. When we quote a post, we quote what someone said, not a fact.
- We don't invent figures, quotes, dates or sources. If we can't verify it, we don't publish it.
- Every number carries its source and the time it was true. All times on Le Coin are Eastern Time (ET).
- Analysis is labeled as Le Coin's view. Other opinions are attributed by name.
- A filing or an approval is not a launch. We say "filed to" or "is set to" until something is live.
- We give no price targets, no buy or sell calls and no portfolio advice. Nothing on Le Coin is financial advice.
Market data
Crypto prices and market figures on our pages come from CoinGecko's free public data, credited "Powered by CoinGecko API" once beside each price table or chart, at 10 point or larger. Every chart names its source and time, and its numbers match the text.
Art and photos
Our charts and diagrams are drawn by hand in code by the desk. Some lead illustrations are made with AI image tools; they never depict real people, logos or events as photographs. We don't use stock photos. Photos are official screenshots, document pages, company media images where permitted, or public-domain and Creative Commons images, each credited and each with a license on file. A photo without a verified license doesn't run.
Proof on Bitcoin
Every article we publish gets a digital fingerprint, called a hash, stamped into the Bitcoin blockchain through OpenTimestamps, a free public service. Anyone can check that the text of an article is the text we published.
To check an article:
- Find the box headed Verify this article near the foot of the page.
- Download both files: the article file (.html) and the proof file (.ots).
- Go to opentimestamps.org. Drop the proof file in the first box, then the article file in the second box that appears. Drop the proof file first; otherwise the site makes a new stamp instead of checking ours.
- Read the result. "SUCCESS!" with a Bitcoin block number means the text matches. A new stamp takes a few hours to reach a block, so a recent piece may show "WARNING!" and say the Bitcoin transaction is unconfirmed. Download the proof file again later and check again.
It is free and needs no account or wallet. Our verification page has the full steps.
A matching proof shows that the exact text existed, unchanged, at the time of that block. It does not show the facts are right. That is the job of our sourcing, fact-checking and corrections.
Not investment advice
Le Coin reports and explains. Nothing we publish is a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any asset, and we don't publish price targets or trading calls. Where a piece gives Le Coin's view, we label it as our view. Readers should make their own decisions and consult a licensed adviser where they need one.
Conflicts of interest
Le Coin's desks don't trade the assets they cover. We take no payment, tokens or other benefit from any company, project or person we write about, and we don't run sponsored articles. If a story touches a conflict, such as a holding, a business or personal tie, a data-provider relationship or a business connected to Le Coin or its staff, we disclose it in that story or keep the desk off it. Questions about a possible conflict go to support@lecoin.news.
Corrections
When we get something wrong, we fix it in the open. Each change is a new version with its own proof, and the earlier version stays checkable. See our corrections policy.
