US spot bitcoin exchange-traded funds took in a net $301.2 million in the week of Oct. 19–23, according to Farside Investors, ending two straight weeks of net outflows. US spot ether funds moved the other way, losing a net $220.7 million for a fourth consecutive week. These funds let investors hold the underlying asset through an ordinary brokerage account, and Farside's daily totals of creations and redemptions show which way that money moved. Figures below are Farside data as of Saturday morning; a few Oct. 23 fund cells (bitcoin HODL, ether ETHV and solana VSOL) were still marked "-" on Farside's tables at that time.

The bitcoin week was not a straight climb. Funds took in $526.7 million on Oct. 19, $23.2 million on Oct. 20 and $524.8 million on Oct. 21, then lost $635.6 million on Oct. 22 and $137.9 million on Oct. 23, for a week total of +$301.2 million by Farside's sum. The last two sessions alone were −$773.5 million, by Le Coin's sum of those two Farside daily totals. Friday's outflow was led by BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) at −$110.3 million and Fidelity's FBTC at −$31.8 million, with MSBT the only named Friday inflow at +$4.2 million, according to Farside.

October is still negative for bitcoin funds even after the rebound week. Through Oct. 23, Farside puts the month at −$313.5 million across 17 sessions, with 8 of those sessions negative.

Ether funds have had a harder month. The four most recent weekly totals were −$138.1 million, −$542.2 million, −$320.1 million and −$220.7 million, according to Farside. October through Oct. 23 stands at −$1,175.8 million, with 14 of 17 sessions negative. That is the second-worst calendar month for the ether funds since launch, after November 2025 (−$1,423.6 million), per Farside. BlackRock's iShares Ethereum Trust (ETHA) alone accounts for −$1,029.4 million of October's total. The Oct. 23 ether row itself was a small net inflow of +$4.4 million (FETH +$3.6 million, MSSE +$0.8 million), according to Farside, against the week's −$220.7 million.

US spot solana ETFs lost a net $17.6 million in the same week, according to Farside's Solana table, with the VSOL Oct. 23 cell still blank at Saturday morning's pull.

In Le Coin's view, the useful read is the split, not either week's headline alone. Bitcoin funds flipped a two-week outflow run even though Thursday and Friday gave back most of the early-week gains, while ether funds extended a four-week drain that has already made October their second-worst month. The objection is familiar and still right: flows record what fund investors did with creations and redemptions, not what prices will do next, and Saturday morning's Farside tables still leave a few Oct. 23 cells unmarked.

The next test is whether bitcoin's weekly flip holds when a full Friday print is in, and whether ether's October pace slows.
