· Bank Negara Malaysia launches SSDS+ for tokenized bonds and sukuk. In a release dated Tuesday, the central bank calls SSDS+ "the next-generation platform for the issuance, depository, and safekeeping of tokenised bonds and sukuk," built "in-house using cloud and distributed ledger technologies" on top of SSDS, Malaysia's central securities depository for the wholesale market. It is linked to RENTAS+, Malaysia's interbank payment system, which settles bond purchases "in central bank money" around the clock. Governor Abdul Rasheed Ghaffour called it "a major milestone in modernising Malaysia's financial market infrastructure." The release gives no issue, issuer, volume or start date. [2]
· Utah sues Kalshi and two Susquehanna firms it says make markets on Kalshi. In a complaint for Salt Lake County's Third District Court, made public Tuesday, Utah Attorney General Derek Brown alleges Kalshi's event contracts are illegal gambling and says Susquehanna International Group acts as a market maker, "routinely taking positions opposite retail bettors' gambling wagers, including wagers placed by Utah residents." The state "seeks disgorgement of Defendants' unjustly acquired profits" and other monetary benefits. These are allegations; neither company's response is in the filing, and the copy posted by Utah News Dispatch shows no case number or court stamp. [4]
· Webull sets a November start for bitcoin perpetual futures. Webull said Tuesday it "will begin rolling out perpetual futures in November, with broader availability anticipated before year-end," starting with "Bitcoin and other crypto assets." Perpetual futures are leveraged contracts with no expiry date. They will be listed on KalshiEX, a CFTC-regulated exchange, and cleared by Kalshi Klear. Webull disclosed no leverage limits or fees. Separately, the CFTC is taking comments until Dec. 14 on an advance notice of rules it plans to write for crypto asset transactions and markets. [5][8]
· Fidelity counts the bitcoin bought with preferred stock. Fidelity Digital Assets said in a Tuesday report that perpetual preferred shares issued to fund bitcoin purchases "contributed to the accumulation of 135,979 bitcoin" as of Oct. 5, "more than 0.5% of the total bitcoin supply in just over a year." By its count, spot bitcoin ETPs gathered 888,185 bitcoin in their first year. Its caveat: "the strategy only works if the appreciation of the underlying asset outpaces the cost of yield." [6]
Solana ended the night flat while the other three majors rose. XRP pulled away after 4:00 a.m. ET, peaking at 102.85 on the index at 5:35 a.m. ET before easing. Solana's overnight high, 101.02 at 6:40 p.m. ET Tuesday, did not hold, and it finished level with Tuesday's close. [1]
